Jodie’s Law (Documentary)

Jodie’s Law – NoJobIsWorthThis.com from Beverly Peterson on Vimeo.

Wisconsin: No Job Is Worth the loss of the precious gift of life. Lisa struggles to understand why her sister’s supervisor “kept badgering her and backing her into a corner and my sister just felt helpless” The year that Jodie died marked the highest number of workplace suicides ever reported by the fatality census [USDOL] . A jump of nearly 30% over the year before and soon to be released numbers are expected to be even higher. Unfortunately even the USDOL admits the number is no doubt higher still since their data does not reflect incidents that happened at home instead of on the jobsite. Their figures show the most vulnerable groups are males (94%), aged 45-54 (36%), and white (78%). If you or someone you know has thoughts of suicide seek help immediately and contact your local crisis line or counseling center

I worked for a major Medical Center in Central Massachusetts and was bullied. I was the only Male worker and they intimidated me to the point where I lost all of my dignity. My manager and Director were both Woman. I’m not saying that Men aren’t bad bosses, but I never worked for one that was as mean and controlling. I was put on a PIP weekly to only be bullied, and have them document everything that they found to make my performance look bad.
Make a appointment with council and see what they think about the way your being treated. Massachusetts is a right to work state. They can fire you for any reason and you can quit anytime. This gives you no protection as a employee. I would recommend finding employment with union representation. It’s the only way to provide you from bullying.
